This approximately 200 cm wide and 200 cm high, double-thick reed roll is made of high-quality freshwater reed. The stems are approximately 10–12 mm thick and tied together with black plastic-coated steel wire, spaced approximately 10 cm apart. These thick screening mats have very little see-through and offer excellent privacy for your garden, balcony or terrace.

Reed fences are affordable, environmentally friendly and have multiple uses. They can be used as frost protection for outdoor plants (the reed mesh protects against 3 degrees of frost) or for growing climbing plants and vines. Reed fence rolls are used as visual screening at events or industrial sites, but also as decoration for old fences or mesh elements.

Adjusting the size of reed fences

A big advantage of reed is that it is easy to work with. You can simply adjust the width of a reed fence roll by cutting the galvanized steel wires to the desired width with pliers.
To adjust the height of a reed fence, you can easily cut the stems to the desired height with pruning shears.

Installing the reed fence

We recommend installing the reed fence at least 10 cm above the ground to avoid direct contact with wet soil and to maximize its durability. Rest the fence roll on a wooden board, for example, while you install the fence.

You can easily attach a 200 x 200 cm cane fence roll to an existing wall or fence using our special 3.5 x 25 mm fixing screws. Place the screws between the canes and tighten the screw so that the washer presses the cane rods against the wall. Do this every 20 cm horizontally, and repeat at the top, middle and bottom of the fence for maximum stability.
Installing the cane fence roll against a mesh fence or mesh panels is done using galvanized wire ties or cable ties. Wrap the galvanized wire ties in a double loop around the steel wire running through the cane fence roll and attach them to the metal fence.

General Properties of the Canes and Care Tips

The cane fence roll is a natural product, so its dimensions may vary slightly. This also applies to its density/permeability.
The minimum durability of fence wood intended for outdoor use is 5–8 years. To extend its lifespan, use Bamboo Booster, a natural oil that nourishes and maintains natural fences.
