Bamboo Beam Carbonised 100 x 100 mm – 244 cm

This solid bamboo beam has a head size of 100 x 100 mm and a standard length of 244 cm. The beam is made of carbonised bamboo strips glued together lengthwise. The layered design provides good stability and a unique look (two sides with a “side-pressed” appearance and two sides with a “plain-pressed” appearance).

Bamboo beams are ideal for indoor use thanks to their high bending strength, tensile strength, stiffness and hardness. Unlike traditional wood, solid bamboo beams are extremely consistent in terms of dimensions and structure. Bamboo also contains no knots or resin pockets, which makes it very easy to process.

Bamboo beams are often used to make window and door frames, table legs and all kinds of construction projects.

• Bamboo beams are supplied unfinished, but they are easy to paint with oil or varnish to achieve the desired look and finish.
• The colour of bamboo changes under the influence of UV radiation. The natural colour becomes slightly darker and the caramel colour becomes slightly lighter. • If you want to use oil, apply it thinly. Bamboo has a dense surface and absorbs oil more slowly. Excessive use of oil can cause differences in sheen and long drying times.
• The inner layers of solid bamboo beams consist of various bamboo strips, so small holes may occasionally occur. These holes can be filled with filler.
• Although bamboo is harder than oak, the beams can be worked with ordinary tools. Make sure drill bits, saw blades and milling cutters are sharp.
• Semi-finished parts can be glued with waterproof D3 adhesive for interior fitting-out.
