Adjusting the size of the bamboo fence roll

• A great advantage of bamboo is that it is easy to work with. You can simply adjust the width of the black bamboo fence roll by folding the galvanized steel wires at the sides of the roll. Pull out the canes you don’t need and fold the steel wires back into place!
• To adjust the height of the fence, cut the bottom of the bamboo canes with a fine saw blade. It is best to useif you want to use a special 200 mma Japanese saw, specially developed for cutting solid materials such as bamboo. Be sure to cut the bottom and not the naturally closed top of the fence. For a perfect result, it may also help to wrap strong tape around the bamboo canes before cutting them to size, to prevent splintered cuts.

Installing the bamboo fence roll

There are two general rules to keep in mind before installing the bamboo fence roll. First, remember that one side of the bamboo fence roll has all the naturally cut bamboo canes; this is the top of the fence and it should point upwards.

Second, always try to leave a gap of at least 2 cm between the bamboo fence and the ground to avoid direct contact with wet soil, as this can cause black spots over time. You can rest the fence roll on a wooden board while installing the fence.

1. To install the bamboo fencing roll against an existing wall or wooden fence, drill 4 mm holes through the bamboo canes using special4 mm bamboo drill bit . Do this approximately every 20 cm horizontally and fasten the bamboo fence4 x 70 mm screws.Repeat this at the top, middle and bottom of the fence for the best possible stability. Do not use excessive force when tightening the screws, to avoid damaging the bamboo canes.
2. Installing the black bamboo fence roll against a trellis panel or chain-link fencechain-link fenceis done usinga double-loop wire method . Wrap the wires around the galvanized steel wire running through the bamboo canes and tighten them to the metal chain-link fence.

General properties of bamboo and maintenance tips

• Every bamboo cane is unique, so color variations in the fence roll are possible.
• The diameter of each cane in the bamboo fence roll may vary slightly.
• Vertical cracks may occur in the bamboo canes. Like wood, bamboo also expands or contracts as temperature or humidity conditions change. However, cracks have no effect on the structural integrity of the bamboo fence.
