Add tropical charm to your garden with easy-to-install 70 x 400 cm thatched roofing. The thatched roofing is made from palm leaves, a highly renewable natural resource with excellent natural insulating properties.

Palm-belt thatch roofing is often used as roofing for bamboo tiki bars, pergolas, outdoor umbrellas, garden structures, gazebos or tropical huts. The half-panels are easily attached to surfaces or supports by stapling and overlapping the panels.

Description

• On each thatch panel, the palm fronds are approx. 70 cm.
• No chemicals are used to make the panels. The palm leaves are simply boiled in water and dried in the sun, after which they are cut into strips and woven onto two bamboo laths.
• The natural lifespan of a palm-leaf thatched roof is approx. 3-5 years depending on the climate, but can be up to 7 years or more in a dry climate.

How to install a palm thatched roof?

• Attach the bamboo laths woven into the thatched palm panels to flat surfaces or supports using screws or wire.
• Place the palm segment panels 10–20 cm apart. The closer they overlap, the better they protect against outdoor elements (sun, rain, wind).
• Adjust the width of the thatched roof by cutting the bamboo laths. The palm leaves can also be trimmed with scissors if desired.
• When using palm thatching indoors, we recommend treating it with a fire retardant.
