Bamboo Plywood Topcoat 1L

1. The bamboo surface must be sanded, clean, dry and free of grease. Raised bamboo fibres can be prevented by dampening the bamboo panel with a damp cloth before applying the first coat. This method usually avoids the need for intermediate sanding before applying the second coat. Intermediate sanding with P120 sandpaper is not required for adhesion, but it can produce a smoother surface.
2. Do not dilute, as this may disturb the precise balance of the ingredients.
3. Use a roller or a long-bristled brush to apply Bamboo Topcoat. Use only tools made of stainless steel or plastic. Clean tools with water. Dried product can be dissolved with acetone.
4. Apply the varnish in even strips or sections on the bamboo surface, trying to avoid differences in coat thickness. It is important to apply Bamboo Topcoat generously (first coat approx. 8 m2/l and second coat approx. 10–12 m2/l). A generous coat ensures better flow and better distribution. 3 coats give you full protection.

Drying times apply at a temperature of 20°C, humidity of 65%, the stated consumption rate and adequate ventilation. A lower temperature and/or higher relative humidity can significantly slow down the drying process. To avoid defects, always wait until the previous coat is sufficiently dry before applying the next coat. Do not cover the finished surface with cellophane, rugs or other coverings for the first two weeks. During this time, clean only with a dry cloth.

• Touch-dry after ± 15 minutes
• Tack-free after ± 30 minutes
• Recoating time ± 16 hours

Do not use Bamboo Topcoat at temperatures below +10°C, above +30°C and/or at a relative humidity above 85%. The surface temperature should be at least 3°C above the dew point. Protect from direct sunlight and ensure adequate ventilation to remove vapours during drying.
